Activision Denies CoD Exclusivity For Infinity Ward News

Activision has firmly refuted rumours that Infinity Ward will exclusively develop the CoD series after CoD5...

While it was seemingly revealed on Monday that Infinity Ward will exclusively develop the Call of Duty franchise after CoD5 is released, Activision has now firmly refuted the rumours.

Maryanne Lataif, Activision's Vice President of Corporate Communications, told next-gen in an update to Monday's original report that the rumours are "erroneous information regarding the CoD franchise."

Additionally, an Infinity Ward artist apologetically told the trade site that he could not comment on the matter.

According to Monday's rumour, Infinity Ward had recently renegotiated its contract with Activision to ensure that it will be the sole developer of the CoD series after CoD5 (which is being developed by Activision workhorse studio Treyarch).

The rumours came from an ex-Activision Underground employee, who linked the shutting of the Underground studio to the rumoured contractual renegotiations between Infinity Ward and Activision.

The source revealed that the Underground studio had been developing a third-person CoD game for Activision (as well as an over budget Quake Wars port), and speculated that the closure of the studio was due to its CoD spin-off becoming redundant due to the Infinity Ward renegotiations.

If this is as addictive online as COD4 with perks modifable settings, classes guns etc.. rankings/prestige then it'l be another sure hit worldwide.

Cod5.People seem to forget that the call of duty franchise is ww2.Its the bread and butter of the whole series.You would be surprised at how many people still play cod3 today.

halo3 is so unrealistic that it even looks like the bullets are bouncing of the armour in cod4 it was bloody and more realistic plus i like that bit that comes up at the crosshair when you shoot someone.
