Activision Confirms Proving Grounds News

Official confirmation and the first screens follow quickly after the rumours...
Having secured the rights to everything Tony Hawk has to offer until 2015, the prolific skater-turned theme park inspiration-turned charity ambassador, can be sure that Activision will be squeezing every motion-trick out of him until he's grinding into retirement.
Although it's only being six short months since his last appearance in Project 8, rumours of the latest TH title arriving earlier in the day hardly caused much surprise - perhaps the only shock is the quick official confirmation.
Taking place in Philadelphia, Baltimore and Washington D.C, Proving Grounds promises a game that moulds around the player's choices, defining your character, story, and style through the paths you choose and your style of skating. A fully functioning Video Editor mode provides the tools to splice together your own footage into gnarly clips, whilst the game offers revamped multiplayer modes with the fully customisable Skate Lounge and the ability to skate seamlessly from single-player into online. New game mechanics such as terrain altering and building options, along with the painful sounding Bowl Carving also feature in the game with the promise of all-new Nail-The-Trick moves including Nail-The-Grab and Nail-The-Manual.
"Tony Hawk's Proving Ground drops players into the skateboarding world like never before," said Joel Jewett, president of Neversoft. "This is the largest, deepest and most compelling Tony Hawk game ever. You can skate the best lines, define your own style and produce your own videos. You can even take it further by tricking out your own Skate Lounge, where you can hang out and skate with others online. Proving Ground will throw you so deep into the lifestyle of skateboarding that you won't be able to get out. Hands down, it's the most exciting Tony Hawk title yet."
