Activision Chief Gazes Into The Future News

Following the better than expected financials, Activision's CEO confirms a continuation of franchises...

Robert Kotick, Activision's CEO and President, has revealed to analysts on Wall Street what's in store from the publisher during the 2008 fiscal year, which takes place between April 1st 2007 and March 31st 2008.

Besides the perhaps none too surprising news that Activision stalwart franchises Call of Duty and Tony Hawk will be rearing their heads once more next year, Kotick reiterated plans to release titles based on the forthcoming Transformers, Spider-Man 3, and Shrek 3 movies.

A third Guitar Hero title will also be released in the period from newly acquired Red Octane, however the most surprising news was that 007 won't be making an appearance on consoles until fiscal 2009 - in May 2008, the speculative release period for the follow up to Casino Royale.

Confirming the news, Kotick said, "MGM has announced the release date for the next Bond movie following this holiday for May of 2008...That is where we would focus to have our first game [based on Bond]."

We'll have more news shortly...

Goldeneye was great at the time SegaBoy, but FPS games evolved very quickly back then. In a year halflife was out, then halo a couple of years later. I dont hold out much hope for an activision bond title to be honest.

I got to admit, Goldenyee is a classic that I just can't get. Sure it brought multiplayer FPS to teh consoles, but I'd been doing that for years on Doom, Duke Nukem, etc...

it doesn't matter who makes the new bond game, it will never be as good as Goldeneye on the N64. I still dig the old nintendo out for a bash on the finest game ever made
