Inspired by Hong Kong action films, the game lets players assume the role of tough-as-nails detective Nick Kang, bent on settling a personal vendetta with the L.A. underworld. As Kang, players will be able to disperse their own personal brand of justice through automotive combat, a variety of rib-cracking martial arts moves and the business end of dual .45s. True Crime is a mission based driving action adventure game due to hit the streets mid-2003.

Activision confirm what songs will feature in the forthcoming 'GTA' inspired title...

With the likes of Ice Cube and Snoop Dogg producing and appearing on the soundtrack, we always knew that the music in âTrue Crime: Streets of LAâ would be something a little special.

We recently chatted with the developers and they confirmed that certain songs have been written specifically for the game, and as such the lyrics revolve around Nick Kang â“ the main character within the game.

As you can see thereâs a good range of West Coast artists laying down tracks for the game, some of which will be more recognisable then others over here:

  • 1. Dance With Me - Snoop Dogg
  • 2. True Crime Remix (Young West Edition) - The Game, Young Dre, Bishop, & Sixx John
  • 3. Terrorist Threat - Westside Connection
  • 4. Don't Fight The Pimpin' - Suga Free - DJ Quik
  • 5. I'll Do Anything - Damizza, N.U.N.E.
  • 6. We Came Here To Ride - Warren G. Feat RBX

  • 8. Hollywood - Bizzy Bone
  • 9. Thug Night (Let Me See Something) - Jayo Felony
  • 10. We Don't Stop/Soulstar
  • 11. Do Time - Pomona City Rydaz, Lil ½ Dead
  • 12. Legends - Boo Ya Tribe-Battlecat
  • 13. Don't Do Tha Crime (Trailer Theme) Kam feat. Cavie & Above the Law

  • 18. Roll Wit Me - Young Billionaires
  • 19. Cali Folks - Stylistik
