Activision confirm the development of three new Spider-Man titles...
Recognising the continued success of the Spider-Man series and backing rumours that recently appeared across TVG, Activision today confirmed the development of three new titles based on the popular franchise.
As we predicted awhile back, Activision has granted TreyArch the ability to utilise the comic-book license without the restraints of the film license, with the confirmation of two titles named Ultimate Spider-Man and Classic Spider-Man.
These are scheduled for release in 2005 and 2006 respectively, and whilst details are thin on the ground, TVG has learnt that at least one of the titles will feature the same free-flowing gameplay that featured in the recent Spider-Man 2.
The two titles will be followed by the movie adaptation, scheduled to arrive in 2007 and likely to mark the appearance of Venom and The Lizard as Spideyâs main opponents.
Away from Spidey related info, Activision confirmed that 2005 will see the release of a new Tony Hawkâs title, Quake IV, Call of Duty 2, True Crime 2 and the all-new title from Neversoft.
Weâll have more details soon.
