Atari release details of new PC RTS created with techno-thriller author, Dale Brown…
Following on from last weeks announcement of the very promising RTS, Act of War, Atari have today released more details of the game together with a general plot overviewâ¦
The plot, which has been developed by Atari and Eugen Systems with the help of award-winning author, Dale Brown, sees you in command of a counter-terrorist unit that travels the globe, with the sole aim of stopping terrorist attacks. The attacks are being carried out with the aim of increasing oil prices so that a conglomerate of petroleum owners, calling themselves the Consortium, can benefit from massive profits. If that seems a little too close for comfort, then the fact that the gameâs locations will include realistic representations of landmark cities including Washington D.C. and London, will certainly bring the current state of global affairs into focus.
The game will allow you to zoom right into the action, which should mean that you get a real taste of the atmosphere. Act of War is sure to have high production values, with cinematic cut-scenes, a strong storyline, and the use of realistic modern technologies all being utilised in the game. The game also promises to have character details not seen outside of the FPS genre, which weâre sure youâd agree, will all together add to the creation of a very immersive game.
According to the press release, the game will also feature a range of multi-player options, which means that the game should have strong longevity even after the sine-player storyline has been completed.
