French publisher confirms a deal with basketball footwear company AND1 to produce branded basketball title...
As the current eye-balling between EA and Ubisoft looks set to continue, Ubisoft has today announced that it has signed a deal with AND1, the manufacturers of basketball footwear and clothing to use the use the brandâs Mix Tape Tour, an annual roadshow where the best streetball players of that location play against the touring Marvel cast-off sounding And1 players including The Professor, Spyda, Half-Man Half-Amazing, and Sik wit It.

âUbisoft is thrilled to be adding the AND1 license to its line-up of sports videogames,â said Laurent Detoc, President of Ubisoft North America. âThe strength of the AND1 brand and the creativity Ubisoft brings to the table make this agreement exciting news for the sports genre.â
The deal is the second sports related acquisition for Ubisoft following their announcement last month that they have signed Vijay Singh to front a golf title. So with a street based basketball title and a golf title already in development the question must surely be where will Ubisoft next strike at countering the behemoth that is EA Sports?
