Studio Head denies claims and quotes by the Dallas Business Journal that Duke Nukem Forever will arrives this year...
Just 24 hours ago, a report in the Dallas Business Journal appeared, apparently quoting 3D Realms' Studio Head Scott Miller that the long-awaited Duke Nukem Forever would finally be appearing in late 2008, together with news that Duke Nukem 3D would launch on Xbox Live Arcade too.
It now seems that 3D Realms has come out fighting the article however, with both Miller and 3D Realms' President George Broussard flatly denying DBJ's claims - in a comment to the industry-centric Next-Gen, Miller even went so far as to say, "Quite simply, they are lying b******s and they know it!"
Broussard however issued a statement on 3D Realms' own website about the situation, stating:
"In what appears to be an unfortunate turn of events, there seems to have been some confusion between what was 'off the record' and what was not."
He continued, "While we have internal targets, dates and goals, like every developer, we are not ready to share them...The release date is still 'when it's done', and will be until the appropriate moment. Platforms have not been finalized or announced."
Neither Miller nor Broussard referred specifically to the Duke's rumoured appearance on XBLA however, though with the likes of Doom and Marathon already on Marketplace, a non-appearance by 3D Realms' iconic character would leave an obvious gap.
