New title currently in development for the next-gen consoles and PC...
Duke Nukem fans would probably hope that 3D Realms focussed purely on ensuring the charismatic hero's return in Duke Nukem Forever isn't delayed any further past the 10 year mark. Nevertheless, the US label today lifted the wraps on a new title that it is currently co-developing with a former Max Payne partner.
In development at Recoil Games for the Xbox 360, PlayStation3 and PC, Earth No More promises a game that isn't about a lone hero saving the day, but isn't a squad-based shooter at the same time. Weapons in the game will feature collaborative functions, with one particular weapon dubbed the "Linker" described as a reverse proton pack from Ghostbusters.
The team behind the game are placing a great significance on group tensions, mentioning the likes of Alien, The Thing, Invasion of the Body Snatchers and 28 Days Later, as inspiration for the way in which they build tension.
Finally, 3D Realms promises a further "big announcement" coming soon, but categorically denied that this had anything to do with Duke Nukem Forever.
