2007 Japan Sales Figures - Wii Wins News

Wii outsells the PlayStation3 by three to one during 2007...
Nintendo's success across Japan was again highlighted today with confirmation that the hardware giant shifted three times as many Wii's as PlayStation3's during 2007.
According to sales figures released from the respected publishing outfit Enterbrain Inc., Nintendo recorded 3.63 million sales of Wii during 2007 compared to 1.21 million PS3's. During the all important year-end sales between November 25th and December 30th, Nintendo notched up 774, 123 Wii units while Sony shifted 232,421 PS3's, marking a swift change around after Sony enjoyed a brief time at the top during November.
These figures provide some perspective to the 1.2 million that Sony enjoyed during the same period in North America. Despite Sony's turnaround in North America the continued success of Wii has led analysts to call for further PS3 price cuts and increase the number of games available on the format.
Of course no story on sales across Japan would be complete without a mention of Microsoft's continued woes. Despite some successes such as the launch of Ace Combat 6 and Blue Dragon, the Xbox 360 recorded sales of 257, 841 for the entire year - expect the customary change of positions and names before Microsoft finally admits it's never going to crack Japan.

I think your mistaken Nintendo did not lose money they lost potential money...not the same thing
