Famitsu reveals unsurprising figures from last year highlighting Nintendo in pole position...
As if we didn't need further evidence of Nintendo's dominance - or more specifically the DS supremacy - across Japan, Famitsu has today revealed a list of the top selling game titles during 2005 along with sale figures for the various different formats.
1) Animal Crossing: Wild Word - 1,169,757 (Nintendo)
2) Gran Turismo 4 - 1,066,749 (SCEJ)
3) Brain Training for Adults - 1,011,341 (Nintendo)
4) Nintendogs - 965,665 (Nintendo)
5) World Soccer Winning Eleven 9 - 923, 288 (Konami)
6) Dynasty Warriors 5 - 917, 985 (KOEI)
7) Gentle Brain Exercises - 875, 371 (Nintendo)
8) Tamagotchi no Puchi Puchi Omisetchi - 770, 391 (Bandai)
9) Kingdom Hearts 2 - 737, 652 (Square-Enix)
10) Mario Kart DS - 669, 575 (Nintendo)
With so many DS titles in the top 10 it's unsurprising to find Nintendo's handheld format leading the sales charts by some margin, almost doubling the sales of its nearest rival in the Sony PSP.
