WoW caused the decline in MMO gaming. Most everything coming out is dumbed down. heck it's ripple effect caused SWG to take a step backward with the NGE. Now an Artist is in charge of a complex Video game? What the?

city of heroes was totally a bust, the character creation was lame and the entire game just felt like it had been made by the work experience boy.

At any given time SOE could probably make a good MMORPG, but I dont believe thier intent is to make a better game, but to make a game that passifies the audience to produce the 14.99 per month, and maximize thier profit margin.
