Wolfenstein Preview

Most gamers will remember the original Wolfenstein, it was the first FTS to hit is big with the majority of PC games players which back them were few and far between.

The new game has so many advancements from the original but that would be expected for a game that that has been in developed years and is using a well-respected game engine from Quake3.

The original game was a classic and there is no doubt that is was a major point in both PC gaming and FPS gaming but the new title is looking like it will be a force to fight with in the near future. The only problem this game might face is that the fans of the original might be expecting another revolutionary game.

Now on to the game itself the genre of FPS needs a new twist in my view, as there are so many about they have to have some thing special to show to get a look in on the market. Well this game doesnāt have a twist but it is still looking like a top game. At E3 this year the game was still buggy with a lot of problems in many different areas. One area that they seem to have sorted is the AI the enemy troops seem to notice you unless you are being extremely stealthy and sneaky.

The graphics look fantastic and can easily compete with Quake 3 and what I have seen of Soldier of Fortune: Double Helix. There were a few problems but the game didnāt suffer very often so if the development team find and fix all the small glitches then the game could be near perfect for the original FPS fans.

The game itself played like most FPS with no major differences except it played at a real persons moving speed unlike FPS such as Quake3 or Unreal Tournament but those games arenāt suppose to be real.

The weapons and items, there are a large selection of weapons for you use in this game that will help you to uncover and stop Hitlerās horrifying obsession with the occult, living dead and genetic mutations.

The levels are looking good but I only had the chance to take a look at two of them so there is still a lot in store for myself and Iām sure the majority of fans that are watching the progress of this game very closely.

The game hosts some fantastic lighting effects including my favourite the flamethrower, when you move around with this gun everything in the local area will start to seem lighter, this is great but a relatively useless feature in the game.

Comments
In all the new Wolfenstein title is shaping up to become one of the best FPS out, but I donāt think it will go down in history as the previous title but Iām hoping that the development team can come up with some fantastic improvements and prove me wrong.
