X-Files: Resist or Serve Mini Review

Many believe the X-Files bandwagon has now come to a grinding halt and so with every passing month the TV series becomes just another fond memory. X-Files, the game, introduces three new episodes put together in one big story. As you will expect you play the role of either Mulder or Scully â“ each with their own skills and abilities and a collection bad experiences, mesmeric and entrancing, are meant to captivate the attention of the player as they unravel the mysteries and malevolent bad karma as you wander a dark and eventful setting.
Although some might say it is now very cheesy it is certainly better than the original game for this time there are plenty more things to do and see and the X-File cast representations are pretty good. Itâs also worth noting that the production assets and values from the TV series has been pulled in and used in a precise and well thought out manner that other TV brands should take note of; it certainly adds to the general appeal and gloss of the game.
The game design â“ moving around in a 3D world, searching for clues, solving puzzles and confronting aliens forms - has a two fold split with both characters having their own focus, as per the series which again must be commended!
For every positive there is a negative and in the survival horror stakes this is no Resident Evil â“ although some of the special effects have been created well!
It is pretty current and easy to slag this game off but if you are an avid X-Files fan then this might just hit the right chord. To many it will just feel a little lacklustre and the biggest downside side is its RRP of £39:99; that said X-Philes who have a hard time letting go may gain some enjoyment from the storyline particularly.
