If anything Spyro should help to bring more female players to the joys of the GBA.
Spyro that cute and cuddly dragon with an attitude problem is back, this time not on the PlayStation. Spyro the dragon is back and burning up the Game Boy Advance. In this 3D-action/platform game, publisher Universal Interactive Studios delivers innovative gameplay and sizzling graphics customized for Nintendoâs new handheld console.
Last year the decision to take Spyro to other formats was made by Universal Interaction Studios, the publishers behind Spyro the dragon. The first game based on the Spyro series to appear on a non-Sony format was Spyro: Season of Ice, which is headed for the Game Boy Advance, and is already looking fantastic.
At E3 we were lucky enough to see Spyro: Season of Ice and it is coming along in leaps and bounds. Jim Wilson, president of Universal Interactive Studios commented, âThe broad demographic of the Spyro franchise fits perfectly with the Game Boy Advance audience. Moving to a next-generation platform, players will still experience the signature gameplay of the Spyro the Dragon series, including mini-games, speedways and bonus levels.â
In Spyro: Season of Ice, Spyro is trying to relax during a much deserved, uninterrupted vacation in Dragon Shores receives a message that a careless Rhynoc wizard has captured Zoe and frozen all the fairies throughout the Fairy Realms. Using her last bit of magic, Zoe sends a magic balloon to Spyro for help. Determined to save his friends from the wicked wizard, Spyro teams up with his friends Hunter and Sparx to save Zoe and free as many of the frozen fairies before time runs out. Together, Spyro and his friends confront all new bosses and lands never before seen with dragon eyes.
Spyro: Season of Ice is set in the traditional 3D Spyro world, there is a total of 30 new levels, including Lava Prairie, Hummingbird Village, Honey Marsh, Roman Holiday, Star Park and Age Speedway.
