Spawn: In the Demons Hand Review

Spawn

The game development was closely watched by Spawn's creator Todd McFarlane, in the hope to create a game that would be full of action, and look similar to that of its cartoon series. The very second you start playing this game you can easily see it wants to be a coin-op.

There are a number of playable modes to choose from. Multiplayer is about the only mode worth playing. Depending on the amount of controllers plugged in will determine how many players can play. If you have more than one in at the start and wish to play just a single player match it almost becomes impossible to do so.
Once you get one player mode you can clearly see why it's such a hassle to get the mode. Simply choose a character fight through seven stages with just two buttons, destroy seven end bosses, receive a secret new character, then repeat the process over again. Interesting? No. The levels are, for most of the time dull and uninspiring. It wont take you long at all to complete the game right through.

One button is for jump another for attack, so don't expect to pull of strategic combos or special moves. Saying that there is a large number of weaponry which at
times can be fun. The action is also very fast and fluid which makes for an enjoyable fight.

The graphics are quite stunning, however the awkward camera angles mean fighting at certain times can become frustrating and very hard when fighting against the clock. Unfortunately the stylish graphics do not make up for the lack of fun on offer and with the annoying camera it wont be long before you'll chuck the controller across the floor.

Comments
Fans of the comic series may appreciate this one, however even fans will become bored. It may be acceptable in the arcades as you can walk away after spending a
pound. For those unlucky ones to fork out £39 of their money I feel sorry for you.
