This is the closest the series gets to Hollywood.

This is the closest the series gets to Hollywood.

Claire Redfield is back in her biggest adventure to date, not on the PlayStation but the powerful Dreamcast and boy does she look hot!

Code Veronica is set after Resident Evil. Having escaped from Racoon City, Claire Redfield is in search still for her Brother was last seen in Europe. However during her search Claire is apprehended by Umbrella's minions and placed under arrest on an island far away from civilization. Soon something goes wrong on the Island, and it isn't long before you start your adventure with Claire.

The first thing Claire needs to do is equip her lighter and check out the prison guard, straight away you are amazed by the quality of the graphics and the face that this time what you are seeing is in real time, unlike with the PlayStation version. There are a number of reasons why Capcom decided to produce Resident Evil Code Veronica in real time. Firstly the characters can have more interaction with the environments surrounding them, secondly the effects such as lighting are now possible, there are all possible thanks to the power of the Dreamcast and Capcom's artists. The move to a real-time environment also allows dynamic camera action, seen in Dino Crisis and Silent Hill, which really helps in building a tight spooky atmosphere. At one point Claire is walking through a dormitory and the camera pans round to the side and focuses on a Bunk Bed that happens to have a dead zombie (contradiction there) hanging of the side. As soon as Claire picked up the bullet rounds, the zombie falls of, joins his mates and attacks Claire. That would of been great but what made it really special was the camera movement.

A new feature never seen before in a Resident Evil game is the Dual tracking ability, which allows your character to track on two targets at once if you're holding two guns.

Resident Evil Code Veronica is simply a must have for all Dreamcast owners, stop yourself from setting it on easy mode and you will find yourself playing this for a good few days, with lots of action, a gripping storyline and graphics so real you may even fill your pants.
