Oni has hit the PC with a bang, so is it any good??

Oni is a third person martial arts action game. This game has been anticipated by the industry and the games players alike. The produce of this game Bungie has a top quality reputation when it comes to producing games like Myth and Marathon.

The main character is Konoko, she is a female member of the Technological Crimes Task Force, what this basically means is that she is a police woman from the future doing an average days work.

The game has been to compared to games such as Tomb Raider due to the fact that it has a female as the head character, but lets face it have we ever seen a bad game when a woman has been the star. I donât know why people have to compare games but as it goes Oni holds up well under the popularity of the Tomb Raider series. The main objective in Oni is to Jump, Kick and Blast your way through the levels.

As Oni was made in Japan it was not surprising that they used a Japanese manga animations look and they have used it in a very good way. The graphics are clear and details with the cartoon look that can make you laugh at times but also take the game seriously when you get to a set point. There are a large number of characters in the game but you can only control Konoko but saying tat the way that she handles is nothing shot of genius. The controls are very simple to pick up and the acrobatic controls hold up well where a lot of games tend to lack the realism that we all enjoy in a game.

Early in the game you will learn that if you want to survive then you will need to be able to dodge bullets, you will learn this in the extensive tutorials right at the start of the game. The different tutorials will teach you how to move about, how to use weapons and also how to master your martial arts. After no time at all you will be an expert at martial arts with all your fancy mid air kicks and combos that will allow you to take out an enemy with out getting a scratch on you.

The different enemys that you will encounter as you go through the game will give you a good mix so that you arnt fighting the same ones all of the time. The AI that is used in the game is not that simple that you get bored because you go through the game in 10 minutes. On the other hand it is not that hard that you give up because you cant get any where, whoever chose the AI level in this game hit the right spot.

Now I have promoted the game all that I can do with out saying that it is fantastic, oops I said it. Now the downsidesâ¦

Well actually its going to sound that Iâm promoting the game again but when I say that there arenât every many, Iâm telling you the truth.

These is one problem that nearly all third person games suffer fromâ¦the corridor syndrome, this is when the camera angel starts to mess you about and you end up walking into walls or enemies. Now the weapons when you are fighting with your arms and legs the game is fantastic but as soon as you go long range the choice of weapons is very disappointing. These problems are only minor but after a while they can get every frustrating.

Comments
In all this game is a top quality game and has gotten a lot of praise from people in the games industry, and from what I have seen all you games that have thought about getting it, go out and get it now.
