If Gran Turismo 2 doesn’t make it this year, then you may find this a worthy substitute over the Christmas period.
Youâve got to feel a little bit sorry for this game, unkindly shoved out of its release spot by Infogramesâ take over of Gremlin which saw V-Rally 2 shoved into the limelight. Anyway this impressive looking game is set for a release this holiday season, and should satisfy you rally fans out there searching for more seat-of-the-pants action.
As per every other rally game this features some impressive graphics, especially given the format, driver and co-driver visible through the windscreen, and a whole bucket load of licensed cars adorned with your favourite advertisements. Oh lets not forget courses running through areas of outstanding natural beauty, as well as the spectators who (annoyingly) always just make it to safety when your Subaru Impreza comes hurtling around a corner at mach 3, completely out of control and destined for a spectacular crash, they always survive, well itâs not Carmageddon now is it?
Developed by Digital Illusions, who are most known for the Pinball series of games on the Amiga and PC, seem to be getting to grips with the change of genre quite well. The graphics are good, the physics are suitably realistic, the handling and feeling of speed are impressive, basically this game is progressing nicely and should satisfy those who want a more realistic rally experience than the one offered in V-Rally 2, and cannot wait for Colin McRaeâs next game.
If Gran Turismo 2 doesnât make it this year, then you may find this a worthy substitute over the Christmas period.
