The team that created the PlayStation phenomenon – Music and Music 2000 – brings its most powerful music creation software to PlayStation 2: MTV Music Generator 2
Graphics are not the only thing the PlayStation 2 is good at; the audio capabilities are some of the best around. With this in mind Codemastersâ have developed the all-new MTV Music Generator 2, which unleashes the incredible audio power of the PlayStation 2 and lets you put your music on the TV.
MTV Music Generator 2 allows the user to edit and create professional music tracks and videos with ease. Once you have mastered the layout of the controls, and have a good understanding of how a basic song should sound youâre well on the way to creating a masterpiece. Ok maybe not a masterpiece more like a noisy racket but you have taken your first steps, and should b proud of yourself.
The developers Jester Interactive have upgraded everything that was in the previous versions to make use of the PlayStation 2âs superior sound and visual processing power. MTV Music Generator 2 doubles everything that the original game contained on the PlayStation, there is more sounds, more effects, more memory and an inspirationally designed interface offering quicker and simpler track creation.
TVG got a personal demonstration of MTV MG 2 a while ago, and at that time we were told that; you donât need musical knowledge, you donât even have to have played a note in your life â“ but with MTV Music Generator 2 if youâve got a tune in your head you can lay it down as a polished and well produced track. Sounds simple hey?
Thankfully MTV MG 2 is as simple as they say. Once you get going you will find yourself producing some really nice tunes, ranging from Pop, House, Hip Hop, Garage, Indie, R&B, Rock and Trance. There are a few basic steps youâll need to follow in order to create an effective tune, but with this one youâre half way down the road to being the next famous Ibiza resident DJ.
There are a total of 8 music genre libraries each with a whole host of riffs, there is also over 9000 component samples including Vocals, Instruments, Percussion, Nature and Soundstage Effects. You can also add real-time generated effects to your track with effects such as echo, chorus, flange and phase.
If you feel youâve got a chance in the music industry, we canât recommend this one enough, admittedly itâs a very basic tool in terms of powerful music creation, it is however a great start and will help you get those songs you have in the back of your head onto the screen.
