Your poor village has bee burnt down by the bad guys, the place where you once slept is a burning ruble.
All what you once remembered has been crushed by the Imperial state of Sandora, under the command of the evil emperor Doel. The evil emperor for a reason unsure has kidnapped your best friend, it soon becomes clear that the worldâs future rests on her shoulders, but why does the evil lord require her? This my friends is where our long adventure begins.
Developed in-house by Sony Computer Entertainment Incorporated, Legend of Dragoon weaves together a complex and engrossing non-liner storyline with incredibly detailed graphics. Each background is pre-rendered ensuring that no two screens look the same. Encompassing four disks, Legend of Dragoon took three years to make.
As the story unravels, players get caught up an incredible world of sorcery, swords and dragons. There are nine playable characters to choose from, with the three main characters; Dart, Rose and Shana each playing a very important and independent role. Spanning several continents the battle will take players to the edge of the World and beyondâ¦
Players initially take the role of Dart, a young hero on his quest to rescue Shana, his oldest friend. During his travels Dart becomes a fierce warrior, perfecting multiple attacks during skirmishes with enemies. Many friends and foes are waiting to be discovered as Dart searches for clues and items to help him fulfill his destiny.
"The days when a player just inputs a command and stares at the screen are over. In Legend of Dragoon you feel as if you're actually fighting." said Hasabe Hiroyuki, Game Director. "We wanted Legend of Dragoon to be the highest quality - the story, the fighting system, the balance of the game, the graphics, the sound â“ everything, we refused to compromise quality."

Legend of Dragoon is a great game to look at, the amount of time that went into designing the backdrops really pays off and the character animation is stunning. Saying that there are a few faults with the game. For example battles last too long and are very slow.
Legend of Dragoon is a game that requires plenty of hours and patience. Once you get into the game you will enjoy it more, as more options and weapons etc become available. RPG fans may find this one a little boring, however novices to the genre may be captivated by the lush graphics and simplistic gameplay
