Blood Omen 2 is the latest instalment in the Legacy Of Kain series.
Blood Omen 2 is the latest instalment in the Legacy Of Kain series, with a whole new exciting 3D engine where the player takes control of the vampire Kain; the most evil figure to grace a video game console.
400 years have passed since the vampire Kain damned the world in the original Blood Omen, choosing to rule the world in damnation then die for itās salvation. Now Kain, who once controlled the land of Nosgoth with his vampire armies, finds his brethren slain and his dark powers stripped by a mysterious figure. To reclaim his rule and exact his vengeance, Kain must dispatch armies of zealot soldiers and overcome legions of demons in order to uncover the ominous plot that threatens the land he seeks to conquer.
Blood Omen 2 offers a completely new story, where players take control of the evil vampire Kain on a mission to seek revenge and destruction. The game takes you through a number of well detailed levels where youāll need to defeat enemy characters and solve puzzles to progress further in the game. As you progress through the game your character will develop new dark powers that can be used throughout the game, not only will they help in defeating the enemy but they can also be used to unlock new areas of the map. As your player develops a stronger, more skilled vampire, you are rewarded with dozens of dazzling in-game cinematic sequences that unfold the continuing epic of Nosgoth, and Kainās attempts to ultimately rule over it.
Some may instantly compare Legacy of Kain: Blood Omen 2 to Legacy of Kain: Soul Reaver 2 and itās a common misjudgement. Eidos have powered the two games together to create a stronger franchise, however they are totally separate. A cool new addition to Blood Omen 2 is the stealth elements, as the master Vampire Kain you can move through crowds of people unseen, travel stories above the peasant herds on which you feed leaping from roof-top to roof-top, and use mind-control on hapless fools to help you overcome vampire-proof inventions. There really is a whole stack of gameplay elements that you can take advantage of to help you in your mission. The AI is also looking very impressive at this stage, peasants and enemy characters will run for safety, shouting out to the guards to hunt you down.
The comprehensive menu of unstoppable attacks, nimble combos, and special moves will satiate even the hardened of fighting game fans. Kain will often perform fighting attacks in a ādance-likeā manner killing groups of peasants on screen at once leaving only a pile or corpse and blood stains.
