Herdy Gerdy is shaping up to be a viusal masterpiece.
Not your normal Platform game, but Herdy Gerdy is Core Designās first specific PlayStation 2 title. Described as a magical adventure that defines a brand new gaming genre, Herdy Gerdy lookās incredible and replicates some of the greatest Cartoon films you may have seen.
What makes Herdy Gerdy different from the rest is the graphical design used in the game, unlike most platform games where the textures are drawn using a computer. The textures featured in Herdy Gerdy are all hand-drawn, thus creating a Disney-style environment.
You take the role as Gerdy who goes round herding animals. Itās your mission to become the āmaster herderā and to do this you will need to complete a number of tasks and missions throughout the game. Whilst it might sound strange at first, the game unfolds to reveal the strategy required to successfully reach objectives. Set in a ālivingā world, exploration, puzzle- solving and the gathering of resources all play a part in Gerdyās extraordinary quest to become tournament champion of the island.
The island in which Gerdy lives on is split into 30 locations of which there are around 30 different species that live on it. The fun comes when you start mixing different species of animals because they all react in a different way to each other. For example, the Gromps love to eat the Dupes (these are a basic sheep type animal). Puzzles throughout the game involve balancing the animals so that they will live in harmony, however itās not a simple task and more often than not you will find yourself completely puzzled.

There is very little known on this game at the moment, Core seam to keep their projects in high security until itās ready for show. However we hope to see it in action at this yearās E3, which is to be held in LA. We will have an update and hopefully a play test then.
