One of the first Sega developed Xbox titles.

The X-Box is getting a fair amount of conversions, and so when exclusives are announced, a lot of hype is created with high expectations. Gun Valkyrie promises to be just that â“ an impressive 3rd person shooter along with stunning visuals, and made by Smilebit, an in-house Sega Developer, on their first outing on the X-Box since their exit from the hardware market. It was originally being produced for the Dreamcast, but recent changes to Segaâs strategy forced Smilebit to turn to the X-Box for its platform.

The story of the game has not been fully exposed to audiences outside Japan, but so far, we know that it is based in the 19th Century, where a scientist has got a little too big for his boots, and developed new technologies and techniques, which if in the hands of the wrong people could have catastrophic effects. Of course, as with most games, there is a twist â“ the scientist goes missing, and strange looking creatures start to appear all over what was a lovely serene country. This is where Team Gun Valkyrie comes in â“ they are called in to battle against the evil creatures on a search for the scientist.

Not much info has been released so far about Gun Valkyrie, but screen shots and E3 previews have promised fast action, intense combat, and stunning visuals. Despite the âpoint and shootâ style gameplay, from E3 previews, it appears to have enough depth to play like many other games, with a strong story line to fit.

While in development for the DC, the game had interesting and ambitious plans to be controlled with both the light gun and controller simultaneously, but it soon became apparent that Microsoft was not happy with the âgimmickyâ aspects of the control system, and it has now been scrapped for a more traditional set-up.
