GB Rally 2 Advanced Preview

GB Rally 2 Advance is the sequel to a virtually unheard of GBC title, we think this one will make more of a splash.
GB Rally 2 Advance is the sequel to, funnily enough GB Rally that appeared on the GameBoy Color. The new version has been developed to take advantage of the power of the GBA, and boy does this show. The structure of the game is similar to the prequel, however several new features have been added to make the game more interesting and a truer simulation.
The game allows you to take control of some of the most powerful rally cars in existence over a variety of game modes, including Championship, Time Trials and various four-player challenges. The cars are also set to feature a fully working damage model, although itās still early in development to have this feature working on a GBA title is very commendable, especially when most next-generation titles shy away from it. The cars will also react differently to the varying road conditions, adding further depth to what is shaping up to be a very detailed simulation for the machine.
Whilst the original was played from a top down perspective, the power of the GBA has allowed the developers to produce a psuedo 3D view. The view is set to give a greater sensation of speed, and from the first screen shown features some astonishing detail, far better then the recently announced Colin McRae Advance. Even though weāve only seen one screen, and weāll have to reserve judgement until we see the game in motion, this game looks amazing!!!
The cars can be completely customised before the start of the race to suit the different tracks, and repaired in case you suffered any damage from a previous section.
Game Features
- 8 cars (plus hidden extras). Whit different damaged version for each to allow visible car damages after crashes.
- 14 different locations.
- 42 different tracks.
- Track will be not flat as in the other GBA games, but will feature climbs and descents, for a more challenging experience.
- Different play modes: single race, Championship, time attack, multiplayer, practice.
- Up to 4 players can join the game.
- Password/battery back up systems to load your previous game.
- Setting car section in which the user can modify the parameters of his cars to achieve the best performance on every tracks and conditions.
- Repair section to add more strategy, challenging and rewarding for the user.
