The Fantasy Returns To Medieval Once Again.
The PlayStation market is about to erupt as Square reveals even more details on their last Final Fantasy game to hit Sonyâs Grey Box. The tall characters are gone. So are the cars, TVs, bright signs, spaceships, and computers. Everything that you have come to expect in a Final Fantasy has been removed and replaced by the work of Yoshitaka Amano who will reintroduce the swords and sorcery feel of earlier installments in the series.
In Final Fantasy IX there will be a total of eight characters, each will be able learn special abilities by picking up the various weapons that are scattered throughout the medieval realm. Each weapon may have a different ability depending on the person using it, and if a weapon ability is used often enough it becomes permanent and can be utilized without quipping the weapon. Unlike in the previous Final Fantasy series, youâll be able to use four of characters at any time in the battles.
From the current screens that Square has released Final Fantasy IX is looking to be the best adventure on the PlayStation. The Pre-Rendered backgrounds are of a much higher quality and the cut scenes are simply spectacular. Like before Square will use a unique game engine that allows the gamers to react with the cut scenes, this was probably one of the most impressive improvements in FF8.
Although at this stage we know very little about the plot we do know⦠Thereâs a Princess, floating cities, and some kind of dissension among the lower classes that live in the world of Final Fantasy 9. Each time a Final Fantasy game comes out Square change the system behind the magic, the GF system used in FF8 has been replaced by Crystals used back in the early versions. Crystals are now the key, collecting them will grant you access to magical spells etc. Apparently the game will wrap up the once important crystal theme.
Final Fantasy 9 will be the best-looking episode on the PlayStation and, despite the PlayStatation 2 it will no doubt appeal to fans of the series and gamers alike, it could even sell as many as part seven did. Letâs hope so far Square.
