Dino Stalker is an arcade-action gun-shooter that places the player INTO the role of the downed fighter pilot as he attempts to escape FROM a dinosaur-infested island.
Capcom of Europe has released new information and screens from Dino Stalker, previously known as Gun Survivor 3: Dino Crisis.
The story takes place during World War 2; you take the role of Mike Wired, an American pilot shot down during an intense dogfight and who has to make an emergency landing on a strange island amidst dense forestry. A voice comes through on the strange device that has appeared on his wrist, âOnly you can save the World from ruin, hurryâ¦â
Guncon 2 owners with itchy trigger fingers, fed up with Time Crisis 2 and intent on finding a new game itâs time to start taking interest. Dino Stalker is the latest in Capcomâs lightgun titles that kick-started with the Resident Evil spin-off, Gun Survivor: Resident Evil. The first noticeable highlight is the ability to control the movement of your gunner through certain stages, rather then always staying on a pre-determined path. Itâs good that Capcom are trying to push the decades old genre further, however whether the implementation is successful remains to be seen.
Changing from the enclosed areas of the first two games to outdoor locations, has allowed Capcom to go overboard on the action stakes. Throughout the game youâll participate in a number of exciting events, including parachuting from the sky and engaging in an intense car chase. Not to mention the huge amount of dinosaurs that youâll meet, intent on having you for breakfast. Unsurprisingly the games dinosaurs are the star attraction, the game is set to feature over 12 different species from the Tyrannosaurus Rex to the flying Pteranodons, each carefully created with intense detail to ensure the game will pack more then a few scares to guarantee you keep your wits about you.
Of course to have any chance of survival, yet alone saving the world from the mysterious threat youâre going to need some serious firepower, thankfully Dino Stalker doesnât disappoint. Capcom are staying relatively quiet on the weapon front, however expect Rocket Launchers, Shotguns, Sniper Rifles and a few other surprises to make the fray.
Lightgun titles in the past have traditionally been all-out action affairs with very little else; Dino Stalker is set to be a little different with the introduction of a radar. Used in conjunction with the Sniper Rifle youâll have the advantage, and youâre going to need it. Hopefully this type of thinking will add some much needed depth to a genre that doesnât pride itself on longevity.
