Dino Crisis
It's a shame when publishers/developers want to make a quick buck by producing a simple port. Dino Crisis is a good PlayStation game, however on the PC it's nothing more than a pile of Dino turd. Ok maybe that's just a little too hard but when playing this game it really didn't feel right, not on a PC.
If you've ever played any of the Resident Evil games then you will know exactly what this game is about. Survival Horror. Set on a distant island filled with bloodthirsty Dinosaurs, bought back to present day by messing scientists. Your mission as Regina, is to enter the island find out what's going wrong and sort it all out. Well it makes a change from killing countless zombies doesnât it?
Ok on the PlayStation the 3D backdrops and some of the camera effects really looked quite impressive. However when you have so much more RAM and a processor higher then the Station's 33Mhz, we expected something so much more than this. The characters have no moving facial parts, and are made up of a handful of polygons.
Just like any other Resident Evil game, the dialogue is totally cheesy. The characters get excited and their emphasis in what they say is presented at the wrong times during the game, also the speech is full of pauses and gaps, which become quite annoying after a while.

Please do not get me wrong Dino Crisis is a great game; for the PlayStation. When you have a machine as powerful as the PC, we really expect much more for our money then just a simple conversion. If you're mad about Resident Evil style games then try it out, but don't get too excited it really is nothing special.
