Championship Manager Quiz Review

Championship Manager does the unthinkable and becomes a quiz game!!!
You can`t blame Sports Interactive, the developer behind the long running commercial and critically successful Championship Manager series. Quiz games top charts; we`ve seen Who Wants to be a Millionaire and The Weakest Link released on both sides of the Atlantic (sorry about that one) to commercial success. Championship Manager also tops charts, well UK ones at least, put 2 + 2 together, and you`ve got Championship Manager Quiz. That`s right SI have done the unthinkable⦠sold out, but you can`t really blame them, as long as it doesn`t delay Championship Manager 4 in any way!!!
There are an impressive amount of modes available in Championship Manager Quiz; single players can select either the Exhibition or Keepy Uppy mode.
In Exhibition mode players select a team and a CPU controlled team, a pitch is then displayed in classic Champ Man overhead perspective. You must move the ball up to the goal by passing to your team mates and then answering a question relevant to their subject, answer correctly and you keep possession, incorrectly and it`s the CPU`s time to attack, with you having to answer correctly to win back the ball. Itās a basic variation on the standard quiz formula, but the style will appeal to football fans more then having Anne Robinson croak at you, well I hope soā¦
As with that other popular quiz, you`ve got three lifelines to help you out. One-Two allows a player to remove two wrong answers, Hit & Hope gives the player two chances to answer a particular question, whilst Substitution changes the question completely, far better then Phone a Friend.
Keepy Uppy mode is, as you`d expect, answer as many questions in a row as you can, based on the team you select at the start. Truly the test of any football fanatic.
However the game is best played when you`ve got a few friends round, unless you`re the type of person that enjoys single player quiz games! Two players can play the exhibition mode or a penalty shoot-out, variations on the basic single player modes available, but oneās to test who is the footballing maestro and who plays left-back⦠in the changing room that is (sorry!)
There`s also a Pub Quiz mode, which is exactly what it says. If you`ve got a large group of mates, or you want to have a little quiz, arrange everybody in teams. The game will then ask questions, one after the other, and display the answers at the end of the game.
There are over 11,000 questions within the game, ranging from the Premier League to the Conference. So something for every footie fanatic and far eclipsing Who Wants to be a Millionaire`s 1000 oddā¦
OK it may not be Champ Man 4, there`s nothing to do but sit quietly and wait for that. In the meantime why not brush up your knowledge with Championship Manager Quiz.
