Britney Spears stars in her very first videogame, surely it`s money in the bank...
It had to happen sooner or later, Britney Spears is arguably the biggest star on the planet, whilst her appeal guarantees dollars in the bank. So when THQ announced a Britney game it came as no surprise, the fact that it may actually be half decent is though.
Britneyâs Dance Beat is a rhythm/action game along the same lines as Bust-A-Groove, this should come as no surprise as the developers, Enix, also developed that title and kick-started the genre.
Britney is on the lookout for dancers for her upcoming tour, itâs up to you to impress her by rhythmically pressing buttons and D-Pad commands to the beat of Britneyâs hit songs, stringing up combos and showing off your hottest moves. Thanks to the wonders of DVD technology, the music videos to the songs will be played on a video-screen behind you, so Britneyâs never far away. As you complete each stage, youâll unlock exclusive Britney videos and interviews, something for the fans and the entire male gaming population.
The game will feature a variety of Britneys songs including new tracks such as Iâm a Slave 4 U and Overprotected, as well as classics Baby...One More Time, Oops! I Did it Again, and Stronger.
A variety of behind the scenes footage and concert videos are featured, all making use of a new technology that allows you to view the video in 360 degree immersive video that lets you control the camera.
The developers have created a virtual Britney, but at this stage it appears that youâll not be able to play as the pop queen herself. Rumours have hinted that Britneyâs management were worried about people actually âbeingâ Britney, however there is a possibility that she may emerge as a hidden character.
The game is also set to feature a two-player mode, so you can compete against your friends to see whoâs best at getting their groove on.
