Xbox Live Starter Kit For The US News

US online retailers reveal $99 bundle to get Xbox 360 Arcade owners up to scratch...

Despite the recently revealed Next Xbox Experience solution from Microsoft, it seems the platform holder is determined to give as many Core and Arcade owners the chance to get up to spec come November 19th.

Spotted on the website of US retailer GameStop by CVG, is a listing that describes an Xbox Live Starter Kit, which includes a 60GB hard drive, ethernet cable, 3 month Xbox Gold card, and a headset, all for $99 (£62). The kit is due to hit the US on November 4th, but details of a possible release on this side of the Atlantic are yet to be made.

The New Xbox Experience weighs in at 128MB, which isn't hefty for Premium and Elite owners, but does pose an issue for Xbox 360 Arcade gamers – the enclosed memory card only features a 256MB capacity. A major overhaul of the console's user interface, the NXE is also set to include a quiz show channel (Primetime, due in the spring), along with Avatars, and other features.
