Update #7 11/05/05 â?“ Joanna Makes A Perfect Appearance

With a little over 36 hours to go, OurColony has today thrown up the familiar â?“ and welcome â?“ face of Joanna â??Perfectâ?? Dark. The image seems to confirm that Rare has dropped the previously touted anime visual style in favour of a more photo-realistic direction.

Whether the image is the final piece of the puzzle before the MTV presentation or the self-proclaimed â??non-ARGâ?? has one last trick up its sleeve will have to be seen in the next few hours. Either way, weâ??ll have the post-MTV breakdown very soon.

Update #6 09/05/05 â?“ Power Buttons Unite!

As the clock reads 3 days, 11 hours and counting OurColony has released another image that seems to reveal and baffle in equal measure. The latest image shows five power buttons from the Xbox360 each surrounded with its own border.

Whilst the central button is surrounded by the new Xbox360 logo of over-lapping circles, the other four continue to perplex; are they cropped logos from publishers and developers that have signed onto the format? Are they snippets of the rumoured customisable designs for the console?

Also what appears to be the letter â??Râ?? is drawn in the left-hand side of the image, although its significance is also yet to be determined.

Update #5 04/05/2005 â?“ New Images Emerge

Over the last few days more images have been released at â??non-ARGâ?? site OurColony. The latest image is partially masked and appears to be from a futuristic sci-fi title with the main focus of the picture on some sort of weapon which is being held by one of the two characters visible. This new image does seem to break the pattern of recent images that suggested the progressive unveiling of the next-gen console name as Xbox360.

The first image, which was assumed to be from Project Gotham Racing 3 had a hidden â??3â?? made up of floodlights reflecting on the Ferrariâ??s bodywork. Since then however, a few more images have also been released that have been masked to look like letters of the alphabetâ?“ â??Sâ?, â??Iâ?, and â??Xâ?.

How this latest image fits into the sequence, if it does at all, is unknown but the countdown on OurColony continues to countdown.

Update #4 27/04/2005 - Listen!!!

Our Colony quickly gained pace today, with yet another revealing picture from what looks likely to be an Xbox360 title.

Initially it appeared that the Ferrari picture had stemmed from Project Gotham Racing 3, however the â??Sâ? shape on the latest screen throws this theory into doubt.

The challenge eschewed the riddle plagued tradition of previous challenges, presenting an audio clue to colonies.

Update #3 21/04/2005 - ARG Community Split...

It seems the latest twist in the increasingly confusing Our Colony drama has led to an unexpected twist to the outcome, splitting the ARG community with its many red herrings and calling for demands to stop it immediately.

Featuring inextricable links to the Xbox360, the latest in a series of gradually more cryptic riddles had Xbox and ARG fans alike angered by the many possible solutions dotted all over the picture.

One particular clue stood out, providing a link to Kristen Rutherfordâ??s website (deliberately withheld); Kristen is well known amongst the ARG community for her accomplished performance in IloveBees.

So itâ??s easy to see why those following the game were quick to bombard Kristenâ??s inbox and track down every source of contact available; having previously chatted to Kristen shortly after IloveBees concluded, we regretfully added to the SPAM to enquire.

Kristenâ??s swift reply was surprisingly perky, although thereâ??s little doubt that the deluge of e-mails and phone-calls has been a tiresome occasion, compounded by the fact that Kristen had no contact previously from those in charge of Our Colony â?“ and thus genuinely knows nothing on the subjectâ?¦

There should hopefully be an end in sight however, with the frustratingly elusive riddle finally finding a solution (kudos Team Xbox); reward coming in the shape of a picture that already been floating around the ARG scene thanks to an uncharacteristic mistake in the game from a few days ago.

Given the inextricable link between previous clues and the Xbox360, itâ??s natural to assume that this is a picture of some sorts of the Next-Gen Xbox â?“ surprisingly close to a picture weâ??d seen previously, dismissed and rather handily cannot re-traceâ?¦

Update #2 12/04/05 - Spot the difference...

Curiouser and curiouser...the rabbit hole surrounding OurColony.net has just got that little bit deeper tonight after our ever watchful Editor noticed a slight discrepancy between the two Ferrari images that TVG posted earlier in the day. In the hightlighted section of the comparison image, you can see that the floodlights look like a sideways "3", which does seem to add weight to the idea that the image is from Project Gotham Racing 3.

No doubt we'll have more on this very soon...

Update #1 12/04/05 - The pieces fall into place...

The plot thickens. Just hours after our latest news on OurColony.net, weâ??ve come across something rather interesting. After being tipped off by the shoeshiner on the corner of 5th and Broadway, we tracked down an image that looked rather interesting. Interesting that is, until it became blatantly obvious that itâ??s a fake â?“ far too convenient weâ??re afraid, a little too neat.

However, all was not lost as the latest â??challengeâ?? on OurColony took the form of a jigsaw piece that had part of message; after getting our monkeys on typewriters to tap in every possible permutation, we finally completed the whole puzzle, which is pictured below. Weâ??re still trying to figure out who Stella is, but the trail is far from going cold.

It looks as if this really is going to be ilovebees all over again...

Update #0 11/04/05 - It Begins

We only reported on it last Friday and already OurColony.net, the ARG that seems to be hinting at the Next Xbox/Xbox 360, is starting to leak very intriguing titbits from the future, which along with apparent snippets of the controller for the next-gen system comes this latest image.

The obvious suggestion is that this is the first cropped image from Bizarre Creationâ??s Project Gotham Racing 3, although there has of course been no comment from Microsoft about the image, however if this is the case then itâ??s certainly the time to start salivating at the prospect of driving around the streets of global cities in some of the most renowned cars â?“ all over again!

The saga of OurColony is sure to continue until the siteâ??s counter ends at zero in the next few weeks, and the MTV presentation of the Xbox 360 is broadcast in the middle of May â?“ weâ??ll have more images from the ARG soon.
