The Redmond giant announces its financial results for its 2009 fiscal year...
Microsoft has announced its fiscal results for its 2009 financial year (running from July 1st '08 to June 30th '09), which reveal year long Xbox 360 shipments of 11.2 million units for the company's Entertainment and Devices Division.
This represents a 29% rise over last year's shipment figures, which came in at 8.7 million units. Despite the rise in shipments, Microsoft's game related revenue was down 3% or $161 million (£98m) over last year's figures, which the company has put down to decreased revenue per Xbox 360 unit as a result of price reductions.
The Entertainment and Devices Division finished the year in profit though, with $169 million (£103m) in operating income and total revenues of $7.8 billion (£4.7bn). This compares to an operating income of $459 million (£280m) and revenues of $8.2 billion (£5bn) for the previous year.

lol if this dumb a.ss move by microsoft actually happens (live annual subscription up to £80 a year) then considder the 360 100% dead, they should lower the cost not up it like they did with the arcade in september (was £130 now £160) and its all to do with the euro exchange only the in the UK we use pounds not sh.it.ty euros.
