Microsoft's Steve Ballmer appears to announce that Blu-ray drives will be made available for the Xbox 360...
It's a story that's been going as long as the HD DVD format bit the dust in February of last year, but now Microsoft's CEO, Steve Ballmer appears to have provided a definitive answer as to whether or not a Blu-ray drive will be incorporated into the Xbox 360 console.
When Gizmodo asked Ballmer whether Microsoft would consider adding a Blu-ray drive to the Xbox 360, he reportedly said, "Well I don't know if we need to put Blu-ray in there," but quickly added that, "you'll be able to get Blu-ray drives as accessories."
By the sounds of things, it certainly appears as if Microsoft will soon be licensing HD hardware from the Blu-ray Association (a consortium that includes Sony). There's no official word on this from Microsoft just yet (other than Ballmer's comments), but we'll update you as soon as we know more...

lol if this dumb a.ss move by microsoft actually happens (live annual subscription up to £80 a year) then considder the 360 100% dead, they should lower the cost not up it like they did with the arcade in september (was £130 now £160) and its all to do with the euro exchange only the in the UK we use pounds not sh.it.ty euros.
