A selection of new screens FROM X-Men brawling on the GameCube...

The promise of a vast selection of X-Men to choose from, including such favourites as Phoenix, Gambit, Beast, Wolverine, Storm, Cyclops, Sabretooth, Magneto, Mystique and Toad; interactive environments and 8-Way Movement akin to Namco’s Soul Calibur titles, should be enough to get comic book fans into a lather. However the latest X-Men title, X-Men: Next Dimension may be heading into the pit of licensed tripe, as the latest version we checked out featured uninspired visuals and a very rough feel generally.

Of course there’s still time for things to improve, we quite enjoyed the original X-Men fighting titles on the PSOne, so our hopes are high that EXAKT Entertainment can do the job and create an amazing X-Men title. Until we get a further look, check out these latest screens from the GameCube version.
