Blizzard announces midnight launch events for the release of World of Warcraft: Wrath of the Lich King...

The second expansion pack for WoW, Wrath of the Lich King, will be celebrated by developer Blizzard with a series of midnight launches across Europe, headlining in the UK on Oxford Street's HMV store.

Blizzard's Chief Operating Officer, Paul Sams, and Associate Producer Lee Sparks will be present at the Oxford Street event to sign copies of the game and meet customers, while selected retailers will also be holding midnight events around the country as well.

"We've been looking forward to these launch events all year," said Mike Morhaime, CEO and Co-Founder of Blizzard Entertainment. "This is one of the few opportunities we get to meet with players in person, and we can't wait to celebrate the release of Wrath of the Lich King with them."

Wrath of the Lich King invites players into the seriously cold lands of Northrend (sounds familiar) where they will battle undead denizens ruled over by the twisted Arthas Menethil (a.k.a. The Lich King) from his intimidating citadel.

New features such as siege weapons and destructable environments, the ability to level up to 80 for the first time, and another first with the game's premiering Hero class (the necromantic Death Knight), make this an expansion not to be missed by WoW fans.
