The second World of Warcraft expansion is scheduled for a release this side of Christmas, according to Blizzard chief Mike Morhaime...
As the World of Warcraft continues to dominate the MMO space, creators Blizzard have confirmed that the second expansion to the juggernaut PC game, Wrath of the Lich King, is on track to launch before Christmas.
The apparent announcement came during a conference call with Blizzard (picked up by Shacknews), in which studio chief Mike Morhaime revealed, "We have said that it will be coming out this year...I can tell you it's not coming in the July to September quarter."
So that'll be between October and December then Mike.
The first expansion to WoW, The Burning Crusade, was released in January 2007 and sold nearly 2.5 million units on launch day.

Corr, somebody really pissed that guy off. Still, he's kind of right: Warcraft does not neccesarily mean WOW. Still, I reckon the movie (if it does make it to the big screen, which is a big if) is likely to focus on the culture surrounding the MMO game rather than the previous RTS titles, even though the strategy games originally built up Warcraft's story canon.
