3.5 million copies sold in the first month of release; WoW expansion smashes new one-month sales record for the PC platform...
Blizzard Entertainment has today confirmed that World of Warcraft: The Burning Crusade has broken the one-month sales record for a PC title, with 3.5 million copies sold worldwide. The expansion pack, which unlocks the doors to Outland, sold over 1.5 million copies in Europe, and is currently being localised for launch in mainland China later in the year.
Subscription figures for the hugely successful MMO have also topped 8.5 million gamers around the world, with Blizzard confirming that only active players are considered subscribers, and not everybody who has ever had a WoW account in the past.
"We're thrilled about the overwhelming response that we've received for The Burning Crusade," said Mike Morhaime, President of Blizzard Entertainment. "We have worked hard to build upon nearly every aspect of World of Warcraft with this expansion, and it's gratifying to see that players and reviewers are enjoying the new content."

Besides the random spam, WoW is a decent game but now WAY too casual. It used to be fun being one of the server first with a 1337 item but now everyone pretty much has everything short of arena gear... not fun anymore.
