Scant official details of the expansion pack following an earlier leak...

Following the leak across the weekend courtesy of CGW scans hitting the net, Blizzard Entertainment today officially lifted the wraps from the first World of Warcraft expansion pack.

World of Warcraft: The Burning Crusade takes online addicts to a new realm of adventure and intrigue, continuing through Azeroth and the lands beyond. Taking place where WoW concludes with the races of the Horde and Alliance continuing to rebuild their lives amongst the shattered lands. Amidst the fragile union comes word that the Burning Legionâ??s age-old conflict against Azeroth has been rekindled, the Burning Crusade. Threatening to consume the world in another firestorm of war and strife, both the Horde and Aliiance look to new friendships in this time of need.

â??Weâ??re extremely proud of what we created with World of Warcraft, and we look forward to expanding the boundaries of the game with The Burning Crusade,â? said Mike Morhaime, president and cofounder of Blizzard Entertainment®. â??With all of the new content we have planned, the expansion set will offer something for every World of Warcraft player to explore and enjoy.â?

Promising a plethora of new content the expansion WoW fanatics can expect new player races along with an increased level cap to 70, each new level opening up a meaningful spell, ability and talent upgrades for each class.

Players will be able to explore the land of the Blood Elves, journeying through the Dark Portal into the untamed Outland, the previous homeland of the Orcs to visit all-new battlegrounds and dungeons. As previously reported across the weekend Outland brings a variety of new flying mounts, which facilitate smoother travel across the harsher terrain out Outland.

The new profession of Jewelcrafting introduces the concept of socketable items providing greater levels of customisation to players, with further enhancements to existing professions.

Besides the random spam, WoW is a decent game but now WAY too casual. It used to be fun being one of the server first with a 1337 item but now everyone pretty much has everything short of arena gear... not fun anymore.
