Wipeout's debut on the PlayStation3 is finally on the horizon with release date and price details confirmed...
Originally scheduled fro release in late 2007 before battling against a reported issue with epilepsy concerns, Sony Computer Entertainment Europe today confirmed that Wipeout HD is finally approaching the starting grid.
Confirmation of a September 25th release has now arrived and we're informed that the PlayStation Store download will cost a reasonable £11.99.
TVG recently took hold of a finalised build and will be bringing our verdict very shortly.

Looks like pilot assist in online is fine, it slows you down a lot if you take corners sharply, so those who can handle not using it will actually have a slight advantage

Accessiblity is never a word that should never even be mentioned in the same breath as Wipeout - who are you a Sony marketing guy or something. Beyond the online issues with the Pilot Assist though (shouldn't have it), Wipeout HD is as good as I was hoping.

I'm with you about the pilot assist - BUT, feel that it should NOT be an option when playing ONLINE! Who ever heard of a public online game where you are able to use a handicap against others that don't know it. They should limit your speed a tad if you have to use pilot assist!!!

At least give us a online, multi-player, one-trach DEMO of the game in it's curent version! As long as the game supports the headsets and online chat function, if we hear an opponent hit the floor in the convulsing throws of a grand-mal seizure, we can pause the race and call 9-1-1 (after I've taken at least a one lap lead-- but that goes without saying, right?).
