Nintendo's Wii Fit tops the charts for the fifth week running, beating out F.E.A.R. 2 at No.2...

Despite a 10% drop in sales this week, Wii Fit has remained atop the UK all formats chart for the fifth week running according to Chart Track figures, beating out Warner Bros. F.E.A.R. 2 at No.2 with the highest new entry.

The FPS performed most impressively on the Xbox 360 platform, with 50% of its unit sales coming from the Xbox 360 version. The PS3 was then responsible for 31% of sales while the PC picked-up 19% of the market.

It's a fall from grace for the other FPS inhabiting the top 10, as Activision Blizzard's Call of Duty: World at War fell from No.3 to No.4 this week. The title had previously charted no lower than No.2 for the 12 weeks since it was first released.

FIFA 09 and Mystery Case Files: Millionheir fill in the remaining spots in the top 5, coming in at No. 5 and No. 3 respectively, while Nintendo's Wii Play and Mario Kart Wii are non-movers at No. 7 and No.6.

The remaining three titles in the the top 10 are My Fitness Coach (No.8), Professor Layton and the Curious Village (No.9), and Mario & Sonic at the Olympic Games (No.10), making for a Nintendo exclusive bottom half to the top 10.

Additional high new entries come from Ben 10: Alien Force at No.13 and House of the Dead: Overkill at No.15.

Sales By FormatSales By Format, W/E 14-2

Nintendo is riding high in Chart Track's top 40 by individual format sales, which charts games according to sales by platform. Nintendo's Wii and DS take the largest portions of the market, with each console being responsible for 13 and 10 games on the top 40 respectively.

Sales By Format (weekly)The Xbox 360 has suffered a continued drop-off since mid January, as our figures since the beginning of the year show. Despite topping the list with 14 titles on the top 40 midway through January, the console has since dropped off with only nine titles this week, being overtaken by the DS in the process.

The Wii is great. The Wii Fit helps keep me active. Even though it is not as good as playing an actual sport, its a good alternative.

Been thinking of getting this. Heard both good n' bad reviews (and couple cautionary things from real fitness xprts). Sounds like they should've market Bal Board as new game component and the games as actual separate games/programs and let people be surprised at any weight loss seen rather than tout it as an exercise game-program thing. Too many opportunities for "slingshots" if ya know what I mean.
