Midway's early 2009 hope delayed from its original February launch; worldwide launch due late March...

Midway Games has today confirmed that Wheelman will launch with a simultaneous worldwide launch on March 20th, later than its planned release in February.

Developed by Midway's internal studio in Newcastle and Wheelman 'star' Vin Diesel's own Tigon Studio, the game sees Diesel's undercover character travel to Barcelona in a bid to discover and defuse plans by the city's underworld to pull off an ambitious heist.

The publisher has also confirmed that the plan to release a demo in the run up to the retail launch in March remains in place. However, there could be a dark cloud on the horizon – Midway's increasingly frail financial position.

The question is this: if Midway fails to meets its deadline with creditors next month, where would this leave the Wheelman launch?
