After a teasing video at E3, Namco finally lifts the lid on its forthcoming PC Warhammer title...

Having witnessed a teasing video of the game at E3 in May, we havenâ??t seen or heard much of Namcoâ??s Warhammer title sinceâ?¦until now. Today the company revealed the title, now christened Warhammer: Mark of Chaos, will be released for PC in late 2006. The â??revolutionaryâ?? RTS title is currently in development at Black Hole Games, creators of Armies of Exigo and looks set to feature epic battles in huge environments.

Set a year after the Great War when the lands of the Empire held back by the Chaos armies, Mark of Chaos follows the attempts by the united legions of Empire and High Elf forces to wipe out the remnants of the Chaos armies, which had been forced to retreat back to the Northern Wastes. In the game four armies, Empire, Chaos, Skaven, and High Elves battle it out along with secondary hostile forces including Dwarfs, Goblins, Orcs, and Vampires for supremacy in a series of massive battles.

"It is an honor [sic] to bring a real-time strategy game of this magnitude to our top-flight PC line-up," said Nobuhiro Kasahara, President and CEO of Namco Hometek Inc. "With Warhammer: Mark of Chaos, the emphasis is centered on warring armies and mighty champions and less so on the tedious aspects of base management that can often take away from the epic battles. This outstanding license deserves the best that the genre can bring."

Weâ??ll have more news on Warhammer: Mark of Chaos shortlyâ?¦

I thought Blizzard makes the best cinematics and now I see the Hungarians are better. I'm proud.
