Teaser footage and trailers from the stunning intro to NAMCO's forthcoming fantasy RTS...

Hungarian based CG studio Digic Pictures today announced their collaboration on NAMCO and Black Hole Games big hope for 2006, Warhammer: Mark of Chaos. The accompanying trailer highlights the standard of Digic Pictures work, whilst the studio has previously joined forces with the gameâ??s developers on Armies of Exigo in addition to creating 60 visual effects for the Hollywood blockbuster Terminator 3: Rise of the Machines.

â??Creating cinematics for a game is like creating visual effects for movies that demand the highest quality, except there is no film stock to build upon; everything is CG.â? â?“ said Gabor Marinov, Producer.

The 40-second trailer gives an indication of what to expect from the full 3-minute introductory sequence currently in progress, which depicts various Chaos forces, warriors, champions, Golbins, Daemons, Empire soldiers, Warrior Priests and High Elves in action.

â??We took on this big challenge with a great deal of excitement. The Warhammer world has inspired so many phenomenal animations and stories, it is a real honor to bring their origins itself to life.â? â?“ said Istvan Zorkoczy, Director of the films.

Utilising groundbreaking technology Digic Pictures utilises Alias Maya in conjunction with Pixarâ??s photorealistic Renderman and Mental Imagesâ?? Mental Ray Renderers, which Robert Kovacs, CG Supervisor explained "The efficient, yet very flexible pipeline which evolved here during the past few years makes it possible for us to concentrate on researching new technologies and developing special tools that can be incorporated in the workflow instantly, helping our artists to realize their ideas more effectively."

Weâ??ll have further coverage on Warhammer: Mark of Chaos soonâ?¦

I thought Blizzard makes the best cinematics and now I see the Hungarians are better. I'm proud.
