Crysis developer reveals new free-to-play online FPS...
Crytek has revealed details of a new free-to-play FPS called Warface. Co-produced by Crytek’s Seoul studio, the online shooter will be aimed at “the Korean and other Asian markets”, and is being developed using the company’s proprietary CryEngine 3 middleware.
Warface is a military shooter set in the ‘near future’, and features online class-based deathmatch. Intriguingly, the press release hints at a possible FPS MMO-type experience, claiming it will have “a constantly updated extensive PVE universe full of dramatic multiplayer co-op missions”. No plans to launch the game in western markets have yet been revealed.
“We opened our Crytek Seoul office in 2008 which today enables us to offer a game that is tailored to suit its market. We’re excited to debut with Warface in South Korea and to deliver a compelling and truly unique experience soon.” said Cevat Yerli, CEO & President of Crytek.
