Rumour suggests that the tennis title will be amongst the first to utilise the new dongle...

Coming hot on the heals of SEGA's reveal of Virtua Tennis 2009 on Wii earlier today, is an online rumour that suggests the title will be compatible with Wii Motion Plus, the dongle that allows 1:1 motion control for the Wii-remote.

Citing an anonymous source, UK-based Techradar reports that the game will be amongst the first title with Motion Plus functionality.  Motion Plus was unveiled at Nintendo's infamous E3 2008 press conference, which focused almost entirely on casual gaming, something was negatively received by the hardcore fan base.

For now, SEGA is yet to comment on the report, although with a release date in May, it won't be too long until we see for ourselves.

I'd stick to the conventional, more responsive and less effort control-method of a joypad (ps3/60) thanks!... :)

If you actually check out the high res artwork of the packaging, you can quite clearly make out the small print:

"Racquet accessory not compatible with Wii MotionPlus controller add-on."

If you're that bothered by it...

And how would you know, given that you're looking at concept artwork for the packaging?

Guessing to make up headlines is so not cool.

I am a big fan of Virtua Tennis 3 and I love to play Tennis, but I was just wondering, why don't any of the Tennis Video Games include Novak Djokovic in their games, he's not my favorite player but he is ranked in the Top three in the Tennis rankings, why doesn't any game include Novak in it.  It would be nice to place as Novak Djokovic in the game or beat him in a Tennis Video game.
I would really like to see Novak Djokovic and Andy Rod[#@!?] in Virtua Tennis 2009.
