SEGA's Virtua Tennis series returns for the first time since 2007 and just in time for Wimbledon...
Japanese publisher SEGA has announced Virtua Tenis 2009, which is due for release in May (just in time for Winbledon incidentally) and will be available on the Xbox 360, PlayStation 3, and via download for the PC.
Andy Murray will be joining the roster for the first time in this latest iteration, which is the first Virtua Tennis title since March 2007 when Virtua Tennis 3 was released as a launch title on PS3 alongside Xbox 360, PC, and PSP versions.
SEGA has also forked out for an official Davis Cup license, allowing players to take part in Tennis' equivalent of the World Cup, while enhanced gameplay in areas such as serving and volleying will no doubt keep the experience fresh.
"The return of Virtua Tennis promises to be a real treat for both fans of the series and sports game fans everywhere," commented Gary Knight, European Marketing Director for SEGA Europe. "The tennis season is shaping up to be the most exciting in years, and with new players, courts, an Online Tour and extensive on-court updates - Virtua Tennis 2009 is sure to maintain its spot as the standard by which all tennis games are judged."

I'd stick to the conventional, more responsive and less effort control-method of a joypad (ps3/60) thanks!... :)

If you actually check out the high res artwork of the packaging, you can quite clearly make out the small print:
"Racquet accessory not compatible with Wii MotionPlus controller add-on."

If you're that bothered by it...

And how would you know, given that you're looking at concept artwork for the packaging?
Guessing to make up headlines is so not cool.

I am a big fan of Virtua Tennis 3 and I love to play Tennis, but I was just wondering, why don't any of the Tennis Video Games include Novak Djokovic in their games, he's not my favorite player but he is ranked in the Top three in the Tennis rankings, why doesn't any game include Novak in it. It would be nice to place as Novak Djokovic in the game or beat him in a Tennis Video game.
I would really like to see Novak Djokovic and Andy Rod[#@!?] in Virtua Tennis 2009.
