With the 10th anniversary of the Virtua Fighter series recently past, talk of the 3D fighting series from SEGA has been at a high; with interest towards ‘Virtua Fighter RPG’ at a peak, the latest announcement from SEGA certainly came as a surprise.<br><br>Currently in development at AM2 for the GameCube and Playstation2; ‘Virtua Fighter – Cyber Generation: Ambition of Judgement Six’ appears to be an action RPG set in the marine world of Acropolis in the near future, whilst the game announcement makes some mention of a virtual reality world named ‘Nexus’<br><br>From what we can gather from the brief information given at the games announcement, Acropolis is a mining city that floats on the sea where the people extract a rare metal from the seabed. The main character is a fourteen-year-old boy, whose father is the software engineer of the Nexus.<br><br>We’re not entirely sure about the balance between Nexus and Acropolis, however the ‘Matrix’ films quite evidently influence it. The games description tells of how your father has gone missing and the Nexus has become abandoned; whilst making a description of how ‘Treasure Hunters’ raid the Nexus for its data.<br><br>Further details revealed show that six different islands encircle the floating city of Necropolis. Six large corporations dictate the running of the world, from international politics to weapon manufacturing. In each corporation, six different characters are in charge:<br><ul><br><li>JUDGEMENT (judgement): Control and management of organization <br><li>THE DEVIL (demon): Development and the like of the conventional weapon <br><li>WHEEL OF FORTUNE (the wheel of destiny): Control of international politics <br><li>THE MOON (month): Support control such as international dispute and terrorist activity <br><li>THE TOWER (tower): Supervision <br><li>DEATH: Development of special weapon such as nuclear weapon and germ weapon<br></ul><br><br>Being honest this has left us simply in the dark; powerful corporations, real and virtual worlds, Virtua Fighter… <br><br>Apart from that there’s little else we know at present, however as you can clearly see from one of the screens, Akira takes a break from his fighting duties and makes an appearance at one point.<br><br>We’re sure that this game has a lot of potential and are hoping that SEGA will get an English announcement to us soon; whether or not this is the ‘Virtua Fighter RPG’ is currently unknown at this point, but you can bet we’ll have more on this soon.
