Shinji Mikami and Atsushi Inaba take charge of Platinum Games' fourth project, Vanquish...

Following nearly a month-long countdown, Platinum Games has revealed a teaser trailer for its previously untitled fourth project, Vanquish. The game, which is part of a four game deal with publisher SEGA that includes Bayonetta and MadWorld, is being directed by legendary Resident Evil creator, Shinji Mikami.

Vanquish's teaser reveals a sci-fi storyline about an alien invasion on US soil. A heavily armoured, elite soldier (reminiscent of the Master Chief) appears to be at the centre of the plot, which includes invading mechs and alien motherships aplenty (so, that's both Japanese and Western sensibilities shrewdly catered for in a kind of Lost Planet way).

Platinum Games and SEGA reveal Shinji Mikami's return...

Atsushi Inaba, the Producer of Okami and former CEO of Capcom's Clover studio, is assuming the Producer role on Vanquish (as he did with MadWorld), while the trailer's credits also make reference to Logan Productions, a Los Angeles based film production company that obviously shot the teaser trailer.

However, the owner of Logan (and Writer/Director of the teaser), Alexei Tylevich has had extensive dealings with videogame projects in the past. Tylevich's Linked-in profile lists Mork & Lys as one of his other companies, which has Resistance 2 and MGS4 films amongst its portfolio of projects. Whether Logan Productions' involvement in Vanquish goes beyond this trailer is unclear at this time.

i thought that it lacks the fun factor in review scores. people don't like to play games for fun anymore, they just play them to judge them.
