If you visit Bungie's website this morning, be sure to check out a countdown timer in the bottom right hand corner of the site's splash page. It's currently counting down to precisely 3:07pm (BST) today, or 7:07am Pacific Daylight Time (continuing Bungie's penchant for the number 7).

This follows a couple of Halo related teases on the Bungie site earlier this week, suggesting that we should expect a significant Halo announcement from the developer later today.

Bungie had an announcement scheduled for Microsoft's press conference at E3 earlier this year, although the reveal was then pulled from the conference at the last moment, causing a maelstrom of controversy in its wake.
